West Ham transfer news: Nikola Vlasic completes move from CSKA Moscow

David Moyes has been looking to improve his attacking options and has turned to Vlasic as it became clear that Jesse Lingard would not be staying at Manchester United this season; the sum for Vlasic is €30 million (£25.7 million) plus €9 million (£7.7 million) in add-ons.

Vlasic's cost is €30 million (£25.7 million) plus €9 million (£7.7 million) in add-ons, with a deal that runs through 2026 and includes a one-year option.

"I am happy to welcome Nikola to West Ham United," West Ham manager David Moyes said on the club's official website. I've been watching Nikola progress over the last few seasons, and he's had a solid goal and assist record.

"He is also a Croatia international with experience and still being only 23, I feel there is more to come from him.

"I was really impressed with how determined Nikola was to become a West Ham player. It's that hunger and ambition that fits with what we are trying to build here at the club."

David Moyes has been looking to improve his attacking options and has turned his focus to the Croatian after it became clear that Jesse Lingard would not be returning to Manchester United this season.

If Manchester United receives an offer in the last hours, it will be reviewed with Lingard before a decision is made as a group.

Lingard shone during a successful loan spell at West Ham United under Moyes last season, with the 28-year-performances old's putting him back in England manager Gareth Southgate's mind.

Vlasic previously had a two-year dismal spell at Everton, which ended in 2019.

Everton signed the 23-year-old from Hadjuk Split on Deadline Day in the summer of 2017 for about £8 million, but he only made 19 appearances during his time with the club.

After impressing then-Everton manager Ronald Koeman, he struggled for game time under Sam Allardyce, who took over from the departing Dutchman in November 2017.

Vlasic, who plays as a No 10, was a member of Croatia's Euro 2020 squad and scored the first goal in Croatia's 3-1 victory over Scotland, ensuring qualification for the round of 16.
